Shoppers enter and exit a Bed Bath & Beyond in Schaumburg, Ill., Jan. 14, 2021. Struggling Bed Bath & Beyond warned on Thursday that there's substantial doubt about the company's ability to continue as a "going concern" even as it continues to look at options like refinancing its debt or restructuring its business in bankruptcy court.

Bed Bath & Beyond announced Tuesday plans to close 62 locations, including some buybuy BABY and Harmon stores that it operates.

The company said the closings will occur in 30 states, including Arizona.

Back in September, Bed Bath & Beyond announced the closure of 56 stores. The announcement this week will bring the total number of store closures to 120.

The company has not mentioned when these stores would be closing but did say in its third-quarter earnings that it's on track to complete store closures by the end of fiscal 2022, which closes at the end of February.

Liquidation sales are underway as the company has reported a net sales decline of 33% to $1.26 billion and losses of $393 million for the third quarter. It cited "lower customer traffic and reduced levels of inventory availability" as contributing factors.
